Reconstructing Words from Right-Bounded-Block Words
نویسندگان
چکیده
A reconstruction problem of words from scattered factors asks for the minimal information, like multisets a given length or number occurrences set, necessary to uniquely determine word. We show that word [Formula: see text] can be reconstructed at most form text], where is letter in text]. Moreover, we generalise result alphabets by showing suffices reconstruct Both results improve on upper bounds known so far. Complexity time algorithms are also considered here.

Reconstructing words from a fixed palindromic length sequence
To every word w is associated a sequence Gw built by computing at each position i the length of its longest palindromic suffix. This sequence is then used to compute the palindromic defect of a finite word w defined by D(w) = |w| + 1 − |Pal(w)| where Pal(w) is the set of its palindromic factors. In this paper we exhibit some properties of this sequence and introduce the problem of reconstructin...

We are developing novel statistical and signal processing methods to work backwards from contemporary audio recordings of simple words in modern Indo-European languages to regenerate audible spoken forms from earlier points in the language family tree. In this paper we present our first tentative steps in developing some of the necessary technical methods for realising this ambition, especially...

The considerations argued in this article start from the valuable healing that words can express well, that pass through the issues of communication, the use of words that heal in psychotherapy, to get to their use in clinical practice. Thanks to the music of the words patients understand their discomfort, and become able to choose new words to redefine, re talk about and find a new personal "s...
متن کاملWords, words, words
‘Words, words, words.’ This was Hamlet’s reply to Polonius’ question, ‘What do you read, my lord?’ (Shakespeare, 1603) [1]. By repeating the word three times, Hamlet suggests that what he is reading is meaningless. Before launching the journal Archives of Public Health, we have asked ourselves: ‘Do we not already produce too many words too many journals?’ or in other words ‘What is the added va...

The aim of this paper is to call to attention a very large and important area of human factors engineering that is almost entirely neglected. This area consists of the language and the words that are attached to the tools, machines, systems, and operations with which human factors engineers are concerned. Examples, illustrations, and data are cited to show that changes in the words used in man-...
